UK project management for builders and trades, run through a WhatsApp number.
BRCKS is the closest thing to us in the UK market, and we would rather say so first than have you find it out. It is built in the UK for UK builders, it plugs into WhatsApp, and its site diary writes itself from what the team sends. If you have been comparing WhatsApp site diary tools, you have almost certainly seen it.
It is also broader than a diary. BRCKS is project management for builders and trades: snagging, variations, RFIs, project timelines, a client portal, recorded and transcribed meetings, 360° site tours as a paid bolt-on, and a bot that works in WhatsApp and Telegram. It publishes its price, £40 a seat a month on annual billing or £50 monthly, with subcontractors, trades and clients free and unlimited projects on every seat. For a small firm that is a lot of product for the money.
The difference that matters is how the WhatsApp side works. BRCKS gives each account its own business WhatsApp number, and the team messages that number with an update, a photo or a voice note; BRCKS describes the most reliable pattern as a direct message or a small project chat, running alongside your existing groups. Construction Metric works the other way round. Our number joins the site group the team already uses, with the group’s consent, and the diary is written from the whole conversation, including the messages nobody thought of as an update.
Then there is what the record is for. BRCKS is built to run the job. Construction Metric is built for the day the job is argued about: originals kept, a tamper-evident archive in every tier, meetings transcribed with speakers told apart, and your JCT or NEC contract on the Contract tier. Both are reasonable things to want. Which one you need depends on whether your problem is running the work or proving it.
What BRCKS is best at
A lot of product for a small UK builder at a low, published price: a site diary compiled from WhatsApp, plus snagging, variations, RFIs, a client portal and recorded, transcribed meetings, at £40 a seat a month on annual billing, with subcontractors, trades and clients free and unlimited projects on every seat.
Choose BRCKS if
You are a small UK builder or trade contractor who wants snagging, variations, RFIs and a client portal alongside the diary, with a couple of office seats covering every job.
Choose Construction Metric if
You want the record built from the site group the team already talks in, not from messages sent to a separate number, with meetings and email in it and a tamper-evident archive behind it.

Common questions
Is BRCKS cheaper than Construction Metric?
For most small firms, yes, and by a distance. BRCKS charges per seat for the office team only, £40 a month each on annual billing, with unlimited projects and everyone on site free. A builder with two office seats running four jobs pays £80 a month. The same four jobs on our entry tier are £199 a site, so £796 a month, plus a one-off setup fee per site; both sets of prices exclude VAT. If the subscription is the deciding number, BRCKS wins. Our case rests on what the record is worth on the day a delay, an instruction or a final account is disputed.
Both use WhatsApp. What is actually different?
Where the messages come from. With BRCKS the team sends updates to a BRCKS number, so what reaches the record is what somebody decided to send it. With Construction Metric our number sits in the group the team already talks in, so the record includes the instruction given in passing, the delivery that turned up late and the question nobody answered, because nobody had to decide it was worth reporting. If your team will reliably message a dedicated number, the BRCKS approach works and keeps the record tidy. If the important things are said in the group chat and never reported, that is the gap we were built for.
Does Construction Metric do snagging, variations and RFIs like BRCKS?
Not as separate workflows, and we would not claim to. BRCKS manages snags, variations and RFIs through to close, with a client portal on top. Construction Metric captures them as they are raised in the day’s traffic and keeps them on the record with their evidence attached, which is a different job. If you want one tool to run a small job end to end, BRCKS is the more complete choice.
Can I run both?
You can, though there is overlap, because both write a diary from WhatsApp. The split that makes sense is BRCKS to run the job, and Construction Metric on the contracts where the record may one day need defending: a disputed final account, a delay claim, or a building in scope of the Building Safety Act. Construction Metric exports everything, so it does not trap your record.
The quickest way to settle a comparison is to run it on a real site. One month, setup fee only: give us a site name and a mobile number and the first diary lands the same evening. Read a sample diary first if you want to see the output before you start.
